I was born in Piacenza on August 7 1980. I started playing piano at age 8 and I took up guitar at 12 years old, at first learning by myself and then by the valuable teachers Silvio Piccioni, Sandro Gibellini and Riccardo Bianchi. I have got a degree in Music Theory and Solfege at the Conservatorio Nicolini in Piacenza.
However, what I consider my main teacher is the experience I have always tried to gain in all the musical styles I’ve played: from blues (my first love) to jazz, pop and rock, dance, classical music and so on. I can say I have learned something by each and every one of them.
In 2004 I co-founded the tribal-pop band Etnorchestra.
Since 2008 I have been working as a guitar player, arranger and vocalist in the progressive swing band Sugarpie and the Candymen, which I also co-founded. The band has recorded five albums so far, all for Italian indie label Irma Records, and has performed in jazz clubs e festivals around Europe, such as Umbria Jazz, Jazz Ascona, Madrid Jazz Festival, Offtown Festival (Istanbul), La Meridien Etoile (Paris) and many others.
With SP&tC I have also taken part to several radio and TV shows in Italy, Switzerland and Poland. Among them the Christmas Concert at the Vatican (Rai1), Che Tempo Che Fa (Rai1), Quelli dello Swing (Rai2), Stereonotte (RadioRai1), Caterpillar (RadioRai2), Radio2 Social Club (RadioRai2) and Sentieri Notturni (Radio Capital).
I have also performed, live and in the recording studio, with Renzo Arbore, Nina Zilli, Shanna Waterstown, Hetty Kate, Tricia Boutté, Kay Foster Jackson, Mattia Cigalini, Massimo Greco, Sandro Gibellini, Beppe Di Benedetto, Gianluca Di Ienno, Marco Micheli, Umberto Petrin, Michael Supnick and Stefania Rava.
I also teach guitar and ensemble music at the Milestone School of Music in Piacenza, and I have worked as a sound engineer and artistic consultant in recording studios, such as Elfo Studio (Tavernago), Moonlight Studios (Parma), Bertostudio (San Rocco al Porto).
Sono nato a Piacenza il 7 agosto 1980. Ho cominciato a suonare il pianoforte all’età di 8 anni e a 12 ho preso in mano la chitarra, prima come autodidatta e poi con vari maestri, tra cui Silvio Piccioni, Sandro Gibellini e Riccardo Bianchi. Sono diplomato in teoria e solfeggio al conservatorio Nicolini di Piacenza.
Quello che considero il mio maestro principale, tuttavia, è la pratica che ho sempre cercato di fare nella maggior parte dei generi musicali: blues (il mio primo amore), jazz, cantautorato, musica classica, pop, rock, dance… da ogni esperienza ho imparato qualcosa.
Nel 2004 sono stato cofondatore della band tribal-pop Etnorchestra.
Dal 2008 sono chitarrista, vocalist e arrangiatore nella band di progressive swing Sugarpie and the Candymen, con cui ho registrato cinque album (tutti sotto la storica indie Irma Records) e suonato in jazz club e festival in giro per l’Europa, come Umbria Jazz, Jazz Ascona, Madrid Jazz Festival, Offtown Festival (Istanbul), La Meridien Etoile (Paris) e molti altri.
Con SP&tC ho partecipato anche a diversi programmi radiotelevisivi come il Concerto di Natale in Vaticano (Rai1), Che Tempo Che Fa (Rai1), Quelli dello Swing (Rai2), Stereonotte (RadioRai1), Caterpillar (RadioRai2), Radio2 Social Club (RadioRai2) e Sentieri Notturni (Radio Capital).

All’attività come musicista affianco quella di insegnante alla Milestone School of Music di Piacenza, e per lungo tempo ho lavorato anche come fonico e consulente artistico in vari studi di registrazione: Elfo Studio a Tavernago (Pc), Moonlight Studios a Parma, Bertostudio a San Rocco al Porto (Lo).

J’ai commencé le piano à l’âge de 8 ans et la guitare à 12 ans, au début en autodidacte puis sous la houlette des excellents professeurs Silvio Piccioni, Sandro Gibellini et Riccardo Bianchi. J’ai décroché un diplôme en Théorie de la Musique et Solfège au Conservatoire Nicolini de Piacenza.
Toutefois, je considère que c’est grâce à mon expérience que j’ai le plus progressé, à travers tous les genres musicaux que j’ai pratiqués: le blues (mon premier amour), le jazz, le pop-rock, la dance, la musique classique, etc. Je peux dire que chacun de ces styles m’a appris quelque chose.
